The Emanuel County Early Learning Center is really the start of something BIG! We are comprised of Early Head Start, serving children birth to three years old and their families, pregnant women, and Emanuel County Pre-K. Our Pre-K has two sites, Swainsboro Pre-K and Twin City Elementary Pre-K ready to serve your child’s educational needs.
It is the Early Learning Center’s goal for your child to have an exciting and positive start to their education. We have an excellent, well trained staff that are compassionate and caring. We feel children are our greatest asset and look forward to getting your child started on his/her path to greatness.
Early Head Start has six classes, staffed by trained caregivers in infant and toddler care. The program’s new school readiness initiative provides training and opportunities for parents to identify school readiness goals for their children. Children with disabilities are identified and provided services through Babies Can’t Wait. At Early Head Start, many parent engagement services are provided throughout the year, including workshops and classroom lending libraries.
Emanuel County Pre-K program is designed to prepare children for kindergarten. Students are taught to verbally communicate needs, thoughts, and wants, and to be enthusiastic and curious about new activities. The program reflects an understanding of how children learn by emphasizing active learning, consistent routines, and the use of positive behavior management and assessment strategies. Pre-K students participate in fun and learning activities throughout the year. Currently there are eight classes in Swainsboro, and three classes in Twin City. We have 242 slots and registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis. We follow district guidelines for entry into each location.
